Steve of Barclay&Co was asked to attend the property to quote to fix a leaking roof. Our house is Grade II Listed so things are old and permissions are required so it is not straight forward. Steve fitted a completely new natural slate roof and lead box guttering. Our roof no longer leaks.
During the job I felt prioritised and well communicated with and Steve saw the job through until it was done, even accommodated changes that I requested along the way. He was patient while we got the various consents and always tidied up after himself. Steve was resourceful and handled unforeseen issues as they were uncovered. I am also grateful because Steve saved us from additional potential damage to the property caused by a faulty water tank in the loft space that had started leaking while we were out even though it was completely out of the scope of his work.
Overall I am very happy with the quality of work we received and would recommend Barclay&Co to complete roofing work.

I contacted Barclay & Co as I was looking for a company that could carry out some renovations for me on my cottage. I went on Google and was impressed by the reviews that Barclay&Co had from customers so I gave them a call. Right from the start, Steve was very knowledgeable about Building and Roofing works especially in the Listed building area. The Lime Render on the front of my cottage was coming away badly and needed to be completely removed from pavement to roof. I spoke with Steve and from the very beginning I was at ease with him, he explained the whole process to me from start to finish, how long it would take and he also took care of the Scaffolding and permits that were needed. The work is now finished and my cottage painted and I’m absolutely thrilled with the final result. What a great effort from Steve and his team and i would absolutely recommend Barclay&Co to anyone looking to have building works carried out. A great effort by all, thanks guys 5 STARS.

Re-roofing works carried out at my parents’ house, including stripping tiles in a couple of areas, replacing felt and battens with new and then replacing existing tiles. Work was all carried out very promptly and within planned timescales. All work appears to have been carried out very professionally. Steve was very helpful, friendly and approachable.We were kept fully informed of progress, including sending me photos to explain works carried out, which was very helpful. Even gave a £1000 reduction in the final bill as part of work quoted did not need to be disturbed - that doesn’t always happen! Very pleased with work carried out and would definitely recommend.

Phoned up about my roof with recent storm damage, they turned up the next day, did a survey, found the problem and fixed it there and then.
The technician explained everything from start to finish. He said what was wrong, what he was going to do to fix and did it.Very impressed with the response and the gentleman that attend and did the work.

Steve recently cleaned our gutters and replaced some missing slates for us. He was incredibly easy to work with throughout the entire process, and we’d absolutely recommend him. I’m sure we’ll be using him again in the future!
