Here at the Old India in Bristol city centre, we have a unique angle on Indian cooking. We provide an authentic insight into the techniques and styles of the Moguls, the ancient royals of India. We are based in the Old Bristol Stock Exchange on St Nicholas Street, and we serve up a huge range of specials rarely seen in Bristol and beyond.
This place was incorrectly rated, the food was okay - it sat quiet heavily and didn’t have the same spices or tastes I’ve come to expect from good Indian food, however the service entirely lacking made this an awful experience. We requested water to the table half a dozen times, we didn’t get half the things we’d ordered, the staff didn’t register us most of the time and then they tried to get us to tip… Not to mention their chocolates are out of date. For the price it’s not at all worth it, one of the worst Indian food experiences I’ve had.
Great find on the off chance. Food amazing, staff were lovely - shame no atmoshere- maybe cos we’re in a heatwave - although sitting in an old stock exchange was really nice. Recommended
Excellent Indian restaurant. First time here with a friend who had been before. Meal was delicious. Will definitely come again. The toilets reminded me of something out of Harry Potter....
I had been to this place with couple of my friends . The ambience was decent nothing fancy. We had ordered few starters and main course . The taste of the food is not extra ordinary. It was good. The chutney which were given for the papad were really good. Overall a decent experience.
Dined here on Saturday night with a couple of friends, food was ok. All going well until we saw a rat running across the floor under the table. We told the waiters who just looked at each other and did very little . No discount was offered off the bill. 4 unhappy diners
